Behind closed doors – the making of the famous Fabergé egg

3.47

For nearly two centuries, mystery and intrigue has surrounded Fabergé. In this intricate and sensitive film, we see the painstaking detail that goes into every unique Fabergé piece, reminding us that Fabergé is still one of the world’s masters of craftsmanship.  We go behind the doors of the company’s legendary workshops nestled in the Black Forest and watch the Palais Tsarskoye Selo Turquoise Locket with Heart Surprise come to life at the hands of true artisans. The workshops are overseen by appointed workmaster, Dr. Marcus Mohr – fourth generation of Victor Mayer, a 130-year-old family business well versed in the art of guilloché and enamelling.
