Award-winning photographer and director Richard Blanshard has embarked on his latest project, “Cannes Uncut: The Golden Years” – bringing to life the truly spectacular scenes he captured on camera at the globally-renowned Cannes Film Festival.  When he first arrived in Cannes as a fresh-faced 22-year-old in 1976, he had no idea he would go on to become an official photographer for the UK and US film industries for the next two decades.  With this remarkable collection covering everyone from the stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood through to the rising talent of the era, Blanshard lifts the lid on what life was really like behind the scenes at the world’s most iconic film festival.  With the candid images showing some of the world’s most famous faces as you’ve never seen them before – relaxed, celebrating, and in their element in an environment more typically known for its relentless scrutiny – in this interview, the legendary photographer explains more about his art, and shares anecdotes from his time working on the French Riviera.

Cannes Uncut: The Golden Years” by Richard Blanshard is available in the UK from Amazon, Waterstones, Foyles and leading independent book stores (click here to buy).  It is available in the US from Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
