Sculpting the wilds of Africa with Mark Coreth

9.22

In this film, we gain an insight into the work of master sculptor, Mark Coreth, on location in Africa with his “Backpack Studio.”  Mark draws heavily on the experiences he gained during his early years in Kenya, and regular sculptural safaris around the world.  Working in the field with extraordinary speed, if the original plasticine or clay fails to speak to him within a couple of hours, Mark destroys the piece and starts again.  He captures violence, speed, and movement with deceptive ease, and is now internationally recognised as the master sculptor of the animal in motion.
