This groundbreaking residential superyacht redefines the future of luxury living – why Ulyssia is a revolution at sea
This year’s edition of Monaco Yacht Show has transformed Port Hercule into a stage for the extraordinary. With 115 superyachts gathered in the glistening harbour, the event is once again the heartbeat of the yachting world – a place where vision, engineering, and luxury converge.
This year, the emphasis is falling firmly on sustainability and innovation. The show’s Blue Wake Programme highlights cutting-edge green technologies and eco-friendly design, underscoring how the industry is re-imagining the future of life at sea. From hybrid propulsion systems to advanced energy recovery, the conversation has shifted – it is no longer just about scale and spectacle, but also principle and progress.
Yet, even in a year where sustainability is the watchword, one concept seems to sail above the rest – Ulyssia. Conceived as a 320-metre residential superyacht, she represents a bold new frontier, built not only to cruise the globe, but to create an exclusive community of like-minded owners united by discovery and adventure.
Envisioned by Frank Binder and developed in collaboration with Espen Øino and Meyer Werft, Ulyssia is designed to sail continuously, on an itinerary shaped by her residents. From Monaco to the Amazon River, beneath the arches of Sydney Harbour Bridge and through the Panama Canal, she is crafted for access, exploration, and wonder.
On board, 122 private residences and 22 guest suites will carry the imprint of world-renowned designers – from Jean-Michel Gathy and Sabrina Monte Carlo to Lenny Kravitz. Residences range from one to six bedrooms, with terraces, kitchens, and interiors tailored to each owner’s own vision. This is ownership in perpetuity, not tenancy, and already half the residences are sold.
Life aboard will be both elegant and expansive, with five-star amenities including fine dining from rotating guest chefs, a signature wine cellar, a theatre, a yacht club and a golf course. Two helicopters and Triton submersibles open the skies and the ocean depths; a Chenot wellness spa and medical centre ensures health, balance, and care at sea; and a roster of expert lecturers and a range of cultural programmes ensure education and exploration are central pillars to life on board. Through philanthropic and community initiatives – including environmental conservation and cultural preservation projects – residents will also have the opportunity to leave a positive impact wherever they go.
Sustainability lies at the heart of Ulyssia’s design – from hybrid propulsion and solar integration to energy recovery systems – ensuring she stands as the most forward-thinking residential yacht of her generation. “She could be the world’s most luxurious hotel, the most remote resort, or the most exclusive private club,” explains COO Renato Chizzola. “In truth, she is all of these – and more.” Ulyssia is truly a ship where your home is the world and your life knows no boundaries.
