With pearlescent chainmail, Tamara Ralph is ready to do battle on the runway
Having spent over a decade at the helm as the creative half of haute couture brand Ralph & Russo, Creative Director Tamara Ralph has branched out by herself, launching both her eponymous brand and her debut solo couture collection.
After fourteen successful seasons of couture shows in Paris that fearlessly pushed creative boundaries, Ralph has once again brought her signature flair for encompassing femininity with high craftsmanship to the catwalk, employing a highly skilled team of artisans to help her achieve her artistic vision – many of whom she has worked with for years.
“I have worked tirelessly and passionately on this collection, and I am forever grateful that I am able to do what I love most,” Ralph said of the launch.
We were pleased to see that in this new collection, Ralph has continued to embrace her love for intricate embellishment. The collection’s jewel-like designs include roses encrusted with crystals, chainmail detailing and plenty of pearls. As for colours, the collection is abundant with soft hues of pink and lavender, juxtaposed with rich, striking tones of black and raspberry, all created in the sumptuous fabrics for which Ralph’s name has become synonymous – think silk crepe, silk taffeta, chiffon and velvet.
A graceful elegance has been woven throughout the collection, while simultaneously evoking an emboldened sense of inner strength. Ralph is back doing what she does best, and we can’t wait to see more from her brand.
