Fabergé unveils The Emerald Isle Collection in homage to the Seven Wonders of Ireland
Working in collaboration with The Craft Irish Whiskey Co, Fabergé has unveiled The Emerald Isle Collection, comprising seven custom-made whiskey sets and seven eggs which celebrate the Seven Wonders of Ireland.
Each of the seven unique eggs has been set with a pavé diamond Celtic knot – a renowned symbol of Irish heritage, with no start or finish, and which represents eternity, love and friendship.
This film details how the Fabergé Celtic Egg is made from 18k yellow gold and features the company’s legendary guilloché enamel in a pastel green; the green, white and gold colours of the egg symbolise the Irish flag. As we find out, this rare artform is a signature of Fabergé, practised by only a select few of its expert craftspeople around the world.
In true Fabergé spirit, a surprise awaits inside in the form of a rough Zambian emerald responsibly sourced from Gemfields, presented on a gold guilloché base with an intricate claw setting – emeralds being 20 times more rare than colourless diamonds, believed to symbolise hope, growth, fertility and peace. The first time in Fabergé’s history that it has featured a surprise of this kind, collectors can customise the creation by commissioning Fabergé to convert the beautiful rough emerald into a bespoke piece of jewellery.
