Aman New York – where East meets West in Manhattan’s iconic Crown Building
East meets West, and old meets new! In this film, we discover how Manhattan’s iconic Crown Building has been reimagined as Aman New York, showcasing how the city’s original architectural splendour collides with contemporary design to create a tranquil retreat in the heart of Manhattan’s midtown. Since 1921, the Crown Building has presided over the midpoint of Manhattan; the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. Formerly the first home of the Museum of Modern Art, the 100-year-old building has undergone a monumental transformation, which has seen it fully restored to its original splendour and imbued with the spirit of Aman. A first in New York City, each of Aman New York’s Suites has a central functioning fireplace to bring an inviting sense of warmth and harmony, while the hotel’s interiors, by Jean-Michel Gathy’s Denniston, saw the studio win Best Residential Project in Interior Design at the Créateurs Design Awards 2023.
